TUR / VM Series - Vacuum Metalized Reflectors
Our TUR / VM series is the ultimate in iridescent free reflector and louver system with vacuum metalized finish. Available in vertical, horizontal, round and square styles using one or multiple compact fluorescent lamps. Sizes ranging from 9" to 14" apertures. Reflectors are offered in smooth, faceted or sandblasted versions. Additional information on vaccuum metalizing processes. Click here for VM series.

While design is one of the important aspects of modern reflectors, above all are the lighting characteristics. However, these must be maintained in the face of normal outside influences. Consequently, form and functionality within a single unit are prerequisites of today's advanced lighting technology.

Our TUR / VM Series reflectors are distinguished by outstanding lighting performance and technical characteristics. Totally free of iridescence the reflector surface is protected by an impervious layer resistant to normal outside influences with minimal effect upon performance.

These reflectors differ from anodized reflectors based on the following unique three layer system applied to optically effective surfaces.

1. The base layer combines the function of an interface and foundation layer. Applied to the prepared raw reflector, forming an excellent key for the subsequent reflection layer. Sealing uneven surface details and manufacturing markings, it facilitates the relevant prerequisite for a highly reflective surface with low diffuse reflection characteristics.

2. The reflection layer is formed within a vacuum chamber. High purity aluminum filament coils are charged within the vacuum, depositing a layer upwards of 0.25 um of 99.99% pure aluminum. The reflective properties of the coated surface are such that 90% falls within the visible spectrum, consequently, form 380mm through 780mm the TUR Series reflector are 10% to 15% more efficient than anodized reflectors

3. The excellent properties of the reflection layer over the base layer are secured via the plasma application of the protective layer. The protective layer is deposited immediately after the vacuum metalization, in the same cycle of the charged vacuum chamber. Hexamethyldisiloxan (HMDS) followed by oxygen combines with vacuum coating to form a dense virtually absorbent free and pore free polymer layer. Due to the protection layer thickness being only 0.25 um. This layer does not effect the reflectance of the reflective layer negatively. These durable layer protects the reflection layer from aggressive environmentally influences and is suitable for most applications.

Electrolytic base coat processing and vacuum metalizing are environmentally friendly processes which are fee of hazardous by products. The manufacturing process being environmentally friendly, had in hand with the superior reflective qualities makes these reflectors superior to anodized reflectors in all respects.
